Executive Director, US Market Access Strategy Lead, EMD Franchise The Executive Director, US Market Access Strategy Lead, reporting to the Senior Vice President (SVP), Market Access, plays a critical leadership role on the Market Access Leadership Team (MALT) and the EMD Franchise Leadership Team representing Market Access across all functions with dotted line reporting to the SVP and Head of the EMD Franchise. This individual also leads the cross-functional Market Access Franchise sub-team. This position is responsible for developing and executing comprehensive market access strategies across the product lifecycle to ensure the successful launch of and sustained access to Jazz products. This role involves strategic planning, stakeholder engagement, and collaboration with cross-functional teams to optimize market access, reimbursement pathways, and long-term value realization for Jazz products. This individual also leads the Market Access Marketing function, the team responsible for Market Access brand planning, promotional execution and pull through efforts supporting the franchise strategy. This is a high-profile role, integral to the success of the franchise, that requires a seasoned leader with proven expertise leading and navigating complex business matters at the highest level of an organization. Key responsibilities:

  • Franchise Strategic Planning: Ensure the development and execution of short- and long-term Market Access strategies, incorporating pricing, reimbursement, and payer engagement. Integrate Market Access planning early in the business cycle to support both pre-launch and in-line brands. Ability to lead organizational initiatives in collaboration with MALT subject matter experts to prepare for complex Market Access events, including enacted or pending legislation, competitive actions, 340B program changes, and evolving distribution strategies.
  • Strategic Partnership: Serve as the Market Access strategic partner and contributor to the Franchise Leadership Team across the product lifecycle, including asset evaluation, clinical development input, and commercialization. Proactively highlight business risks/opportunities, and align the most critical organizational, financial, and operational priorities. Develop and integrate holistic Market Access strategies and tactics into the EMD 3-year strategic plan and annual tactical plan, harmonized with overall corporate and franchise goals. Collaborate and ensure alignment (where appropriate) across franchises with Market Access Strategy Lead counterparts.
  • Strategic Cross-Functional Leadership: Lead and influence cross-functional Market Access sub-team with and without authority, committing to coordinating across Market Access strategies and execution in a complex environment. Ensure alignment across all Market Access functions, including Market Access Marketing, Pricing Contracting & Reimbursement, Channel Distribution & Trade Relations, Patient Access Services, and the Payer Field Teams, as well as Payer Value & Outcomes, and Market Access Analytics & Insights, to drive the execution of an integrated and cohesive strategy. Collaborate with internal teams (sales, marketing, medical affairs, training, regulatory, legal, compliance, etc.) to align access strategies with business goals.
  • Evidence Generation/Payer Value: Collaborate with Clinical Development, Global Value & Health Economic Outcome Research (GV/HEOR), and Payer Value & Outcomes (PVO) teams to develop multi-year plans ensuring the generation and delivery of compelling evidence generation that adequately supports clinical differentiation and core value proposition of a given product to payers and other stakeholders. Develop accurate, relevant, high-quality enduring materials that substantiate product value and clinical benefits, incorporating the latest clinical data and potential label changes in communications with payers and other payer-related customers.
  • Performance Measurement: Continuously monitor and assess the effectiveness of Market Access strategies by establishing and analyzing key performance indicators (KPIs) related to execution across key Market Access functions. Define qualitative measurements on effectively influencing process and partnership improvements key to franchise success.
  • Compliance and Ethical Standards: Ensure all market access activities comply with industry regulations, including FDA guidelines, industry codes of conduct, and company policies
Qualifications:
  • Proven Track Record: Demonstrated success in developing and executing strategies, effective executive stakeholder engagement, and strong team leadership and development capabilities.
  • Communication: Navigate diverse audiences / stakeholders with strong executive presence, verbal and written communication skills, and presentation skills to effectively communicate and drive action.
  • Problem-Solving & Analytical Skills: Strong problem-solving skills and proficiency in analyzing market data, healthcare trends, and payer landscapes to proactively identify opportunities, address market access barriers and develop innovative solutions.
  • Change Management: Responsible for planning, leading, and communicating organizational change initiatives with a positive and proactive approach, while demonstrating agility and a growth mindset.
  • Project Management: Ability to manage multiple projects and cross-functional teams simultaneously, pivot quickly when needed, and ensure timely execution of market access strategies and tactics.
  • Landscape and Regulatory Knowledge: Understanding of healthcare systems, payer landscapes, market dynamics, regulatory requirements and compliance to navigate complex healthcare systems.
  • Travel Requirements: ability to travel ~15% of time, predominately domestic travel in the US.
Required/Preferred Education and Experience: • Required: Bachelor’s degree (BS/BA) in a relevant field.
  • 15+ years in the pharmaceutical, biotech, or medical device industry.
  • Experience in successful navigation of senior level communication, engagement and influence in complex situations with strong executive presence.
  • Comprehensive understanding of Market Access and larger healthcare ecosystem.
  • Robust commercial experience in Market Access, brand and payer strategy, and launch execution, with understanding and knowledge of clinical development and medical affairs processes.
  • Experience with specialty pharmacy distribution models, 340B program, Long-Term Care engagement, and patient journey support programs.
• Preferred: MBA or advanced degree.
  • Epilepsy or neuroscience therapeutic area experience.
  • Marketing or comparable experience in developing commercial strategy.

For this role, the full and complete base pay range is: $268,000.00 - $402,000.00 Individual compensation paid within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, and other pertinent factors. The goal is to ensure fair and competitive compensation aligned with the candidate's expertise and contributions, within the established pay framework and our Total Compensation philosophy. Internal equity considerations will also influence individual base pay decisions. This range will be reviewed on a regular basis. At Jazz, your base pay is only one part of your total compensation package. The successful candidate may also be eligible for a discretionary annual cash bonus or incentive compensation (depending on the role), in accordance with the terms of the Company's Global Cash Bonus Plan or Incentive Compensation Plan, as well as discretionary equity grants in accordance with Jazz's Long Term Equity Incentive Plan.
