Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Roofing Estimator to join our team. This role is critical to our project planning process, ensuring bids are accurate, competitive, and reflect a thorough understanding of each projects scope. The Roofing Estimator will be responsible for analyzing project plans, conducting site visits, and preparing detailed cost estimates for labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractor pricing.
Key Responsibilities
Review and analyze blueprints, project specifications, and customer requirements. Conduct site visits to collect data and assess project needs. Prepare accurate and competitive estimates for commercial and industrial roofing projects. Collaborate with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain and negotiate pricing. Develop and submit proposal packages, including detailed scopes of work. Work closely with project managers and the sales team to ensure alignment on bid strategy and client expectations. Maintain current knowledge of market conditions, material costs, and industry trends. Update and adjust estimates based on project changes or scope modifications. Participate in bid reviews and project handoffs to ensure clear communication and continuity.Qualifications
Minimum 3 years of experience as a Roofing Estimator or in a similar role within the construction industry. Strong knowledge of roofing systems (TPO, BUR, metal, coatings, etc.) and installation methods. Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical documents. High level of accuracy and attention to detail in cost calculations. Strong negotiation and communication skills. Autocad Knowledge Proficiency with estimation software (e.g., Edge, ) and Microsoft Office Suite.Associates or Bachelors degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field preferred.
Valid drivers license and ability to travel locally for site visits.
Work Environment
This role will primarily operate in an office setting, with regular field visits to assess project sites. Occasional travel may be required depending on project needs.
