Piper Health & Sciences is seeking an experienced Tax Manager to lead various tax compliance and planning initiatives at a biotechnology company in the Washington, DC area. This is a full-time, direct hire opportunity with a hybrid schedule.

Responsibilities for the Tax Manager include:

• Manage federal/state income and indirect tax compliance and planning (e.g., sales, use, and personal property tax).
• Oversee sales tax exemption certificates and address tax opportunities, incentives, and risks.
• Support tax compliance for employee benefits, executive compensation, and payroll reporting.
• Prepare/review annual income tax provisions per ASC 740 and other supporting documentation.
• Conduct tax research and communicate findings to leadership.
• Collaborate on tax strategy presentations for senior management.

Qualifications for the Tax Manager include:

• Bachelors degree in accounting and CPA or JD required.
• 7+ years of tax experience, including state/local and indirect tax.
• 5+ years in a multinational corporation or regional accounting firm (SEC reporting preferred).
• 2+ years of managerial experience.
• Proven experience researching analyzing tax laws and regulations and documenting tax issues.
• SAP ERP experience is preferred.

Compensation for the Tax Manager includes:

• Salary Range: approximately $130,000 - $170,000 annually, commensurate with experience
