Let’s get started. Job Description We are seeking a Senior Archaeologist/Archaeology Supervisor based in our Sacramento office. The role involves coordinating with Sacramento architectural historians and being a key member of the Northern California Cultural Resources Group, which includes staff in Oakland and San Francisco. This full-time, salaried position reports to the Sacramento manager of the Natural and Cultural Resources group. The successful candidate will be a core part of our cultural resources practice, collaborating with teams across Southern California, Arizona, the Pacific Northwest, and Hawaii. **Responsibilities include but are not limited to:** Coordinating and implementing technical work, conducting reviews, and expanding the Sacramento cultural resource team. Knowledge of state and federal environmental regulations, including NEPA, Section 106 of NHPA, and CEQA. Business development activities such as client outreach, proposal scope and budget development. Contributing to technical approaches and cost estimates for proposals. Project management tasks like forecasting, tracking, invoicing, and scheduling. Client management, including meetings and interfacing. Reviewing contracts for scope, fee, schedule, and obligations. Developing work breakdown structures and monitoring project costs. Managing schedules and budgets for multiple projects. Collecting and analyzing cultural resources data for CEQA, NEPA, and Section 106. Collaborating with project managers, agencies, clients, and tribes. Supervising cultural resource staff and project teams in various settings. Hiring and interviewing staff. Performing technical data analysis and report writing. Obtaining permits and supporting tribal consultations. Working with interdisciplinary teams of experts and planners. Completing project management training to become a certified AECOM project manager. **Qualifications:** BA/BS in Anthropology, Archaeology, or related field plus 6 years of relevant experience or equivalent. Valid driver’s license and U.S. ID. Some travel required. **Preferred Qualifications:** Master’s or PhD in related fields. 10+ years of experience in archaeology and cultural resources management. Experience supervising staff and large crews. Knowledge of environmental regulations and tribal consultation. Technical writing, GPS proficiency, field experience in California/Western US, and specialized scientific knowledge. **Additional Information:** US Citizenship required.
